About Matteo
Matteo is a 21-year-old drummer currently studying Drumming Performance at ACM in Guildford. He's been behind the kit since he was six years old, and it’s been the heartbeat of his life ever since.
Currently he plays for Benchwarmer, Luca Firth and Huw Lloyd, bringing energy, creativity, and groove to every live show and studio session. previously to this, he spent five years playing with his first band Strange child, performing at venues like O2 Academy Islington and on the Hard Rock stage at the Isle of Wight Festival on three different occasions. One of the highlights of his journey so far was touring in Lithuania, performing for pop artist Beatrich, who is notoriously known as one of the country’s biggest stars.
Matteo is undergoing his studies at ACM, completing his BA in Music Industry specialising in drums. During his time at the Academy of Contemporary Music, he was mentored by notable tutors, including, Toby Drummond ( The Seahorses, Shaun Ryder, Russell Watson, Ray Davies, Cliff Richard) Paul Geary (Nik Kershaw, Lisa Stansfield, George Michael) Brian Henry (The Jacksons, Soul2Soul, Chaka Khan) and Joe Yoshida (Eurovision, Joel Compass, Molly Smitten.
Matteo is sharpening his skills in performance, musical collaboration, and the broader workings of the music industry, all to become a more versatile and professional drummer.
Whether he's on stage, in the studio, or writing with other artists, Matteo is all about pushing boundaries, playing with purpose, and making the music feel good.
